Consideration of the various issues related to the dementia workforce is not an isolated activity undertaken by commissioners at a particular point, but runs throughout the commissioning cycle.
The dementia workforce planning model provides a framework for commissioners to consider key areas and ask informed questions of workforce leads and service providers throughout the commissioning cycle. This may highlight the need for further actions. We have developed the model into a checklist comprised of questions which are linked to web pages containing supporting information and resources.
