You may wish to set as your goal (an aspiration from Burns, 2011) of ensuring by 2014 with full implementation of the Dementia Strategy that:
- 100% of all front-line workers within health and social care should have a basic awareness of dementia
- 50% of all front-line workers within health and social care should have, or be working towards enhanced knowledge (step 2)
- 10% of all front-line workers within health and social care should have, or be working towards specialist knowledge (step 3)
Furthermore you may wish to ensure basic dementia training becomes mandatory within provider organisations.
