GPs and primary health care teams may require other specialist advice at later stages of the patient’s dementia journey, relating to
- people with complex psychological presentations or co-morbidities
- indeterminate diagnoses
- questions about mental capacity
- people who present with behaviours that challenge, or other psychological conditions, and therapeutic interventions
- pain management
- prescribing; medications management
- carers’ support and assessment
- domiciliary care and support
