A panel of ‘dementia champions’ will be set up to select the bids that will be funded. This will be chaired by Terry Butler, Non-Executive Director at NHS South of England and involve representatives from the NHS, local authorities, the voluntary and community sector, and people living with dementia and carers/families who will review the proposals and decide which applications to support.

• Applications submitted by 21 September 2012
• Three sub-regional panels meet and make recommendations by 5 October 2012
• Regional Panel meets and makes decisions by 19 October 2012
• Announcements by 26 October 2012
• Successful Applicants to submit a baseline report (template to be provided) by the 10th November 2012
• Funding allocated on 15 November 2012

• how the involvement of people living with dementia, and their carers/families, might be achieved in ways which are both meaningful and purposeful;
• the key steps for the selection process;
• the Terms of Reference for the sub regional Selection Panels, including membership.
