- How do you stay in touch with the values that drive your purpose by staying close to the lived experience of people with dementia and the people that support them?
DAY TWO: Achieving influence through designing, developing and maintaining effective teams and networks
- Who do we need to involve to achieve our purpose and what is the nature of the commitment we require of them?
- How do we gain that commitment?
- What new structures do we need to work with or create, what new alliances and local partnerships are needed in this changing context?
- What does the research say about creating effective teams and networks?
- When would we need a team and when would we need a network?
- How should they be designed and implemented for maximum effectiveness?
- Working from where we are, how do we work towards improving team and network effectiveness?
DAY THREE: Working from strengths within your local systems
- What are the characteristics of the systems we inhabit?
- How can you best thrive within them?
- What is the potential of strength based approaches (such as solution focus, asset based community development, and Appreciative Inquiry) to create a positive emotional climate for sustainable change?
- How do we work well with issues where there are no simple solutions but rather tensions to be managed?
DAY FOUR: New thinking on service redesign
- How do new contexts create an opportunity for effective redesign based upon shared purpose and new accountabilities?
- What kind of organisational and partnership culture supports redesign and change and how can we achieve it?
- How do we apply the best of “lean thinking” to address our QIPP agenda?
- How do we move towards outcome-based commissioning and provision?
DAY FIVE: Developing resilience and flourishing over the long term
- How do we build resilience by learning from when times are hard?
- How do we build sustainability by building from the best of what we have?
